NPI Capabilities

The prototype development isn’t the last phase of a product’s evolution. After a product design evolves from a prototype to a production-ready pilot unit, it is then ready for the transition to production. This is the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase. During the NPI phase, Core Source Solution’s engineers integrate with the contract manufacturer in an effort to minimize assembly costs, maximize manufacturability, and plan for testing, tooling, and material purchasing.

The successful NPI process can make or break a product launch, even one that has a superior design. For example, a PCB (printed circuit board) may be very costly to manufacture due to single-source components or compromised component placement. To reduce these costs, NPI engineers use DFMA techniques to identify alternative components, or change specific component placement and routing for easier fabrication and assembly. Any improvement during the NPI / Pilot phase can significantly reduce a product's manufacturing cost or COGS.

Core Source Solutions introduces NPI services to help companies enjoy a smooth product transition when it really makes a difference and it’s not too late. With a team that averages 20+ years of industry experience that can support a product’s transition from design to production; we can coordinate services for just in time manufacturing / remote requirements or on-site support to work side-by-side with the design team throughout any phase of a project.

New Product Introduction (NPI) Capabilities

Anyone attempting to bring a new product to market may or may not understand how complicated the process can be. Our NPI Engineers, along with other Core Source Technologies' resources, are familiar with the process and can coordinate and guide development from prototype to full-scale manufacturing production. This capability includes:

  • Product Pilot Acceptance
  • CM qualification
  • DFMA (Design for Manufacturability & Assembly) management
  • Resource management
  • Negotiation of tooling requirements
  • Test fixture identification
  • RMA management
  • Sustaining & Enhancements
